Q. How do I get access to Advance?

A. You may request access by filling out and submitting a request for PeopleSoft/Brio/BSR/SIS account. Please note that you will not receive security access until you have completed a training session and signed our Security and Confidentiality Policy agreement.

Q. Who do I contact if I need Advance C/S installed on my workstation?

A. Advance C/S is accessed through an application on your personal computer called Windows Terminal Services, also known as CMS-WTS. See more information about CMS-WTS . Contact the CMS Call Center (756-7000 option 3) if you do not have a CMS-WTS (Windows Terminal Services) account.

Q. Who do I contact if I am locked out of my Advance account?

A. There are a couple of situations that would cause your Advance account to lock which include entering an incorrect password more than 5 times or allowing your password to expire. In either case, you must contact John Rau, Training and Support Specialist at jrau@calpoly.edu or 6/7331.

Q. What if I forgot my Advance password?

A. If you forgot your password for either Advance C/S or Web Access, please contact John Rau, Training and Support Specialist at jrau@calpoly.edu or 6/7331 for assistance.

Q. How often does my Advance account expire?

A. Your Advance account expires 180 days from the date of your last password change. You will receive an e-mail notification weekly beginning 14 days prior to your password expiring which will provide you with your password expiration date. After that date, you will have a 10 day grace period which will allow you to continue logging in with your existing password. If the password is not changed during the grace period, the password will expire and your account will lock. Q. My workstation "crashed" and I can't login to Advance C/S. What happened?

A. Users are allowed one (1) concurrent login session to Advance C/S. If you did not logout of Advance C/S properly prior to your workstation rebooting, then you'll need to have an administrator close your session. Contact John Rau, Training and Support Specialist at jrau@calpoly.edu or 6/7331for assistance.

Q. How do I change my Advance password?

A. If you would like to change your password, follow these steps:

  1. Login to Advance C/S
  2. Choose the following menu path: File >> Change Password.
  3. Enter your old password.
  4. Enter and re-enter your new password.
  5. Click [OK].

Q. How do I get access to an application within the Advancement Network?

A. You may request access by contacting Jonelle Thomson, Security Chair at jthomson@calpoly.edu or 6/5860. Please note that you will not receive security access until you have completed a training session and signed our Security and Confidentiality Policy agreement.

Q. How do I change my Advancement Network password?

A. If you would like to change your Advancement Network password, you can do so by following these steps:

  1. Visit Update My Profile
  2. Click Login
  3. Enter your Advancement Network user name and password
  4. Click the Update My Password link
  5. Enter your NEW password
  6. Click Update button

Q. What if I forgot my Advancement Network password?

A. If you forgot your password, you can request an automated e-mail response with your login information by following these steps:

  1. Visit the Forgot Password Utility
  2. Enter your e-mail address
  3. Click Submit button

Q. What if I have technical problems with an application in the Advancement Network?

A. If you receive an application error while working in an Advancement Network application or need technical assistance, please contact Advancement Systems at advancement-systems@calpoly.edu.
